Leadership Effectiveness and Development (LEAD)

Effectiveness in business is more than having the right answer. In any venture, the individual who gets results is the one who can:

  • motivate people
  • build relationships
  • influence outcomes

Chicago Booth's unique Leadership Effectiveness and Development (LEAD) Program is about maximizing success in business. LEAD is a laboratory class where students practice and perfect key communication skills such as negotiation, team-building, and giving feedback. We consider these skills so critical to success in business that we offer the class each spring quarter.

LEAD builds these skills through role playing, team building, and a host of other creative activities and experiences. Students are grouped in cohorts of about 15 students who participate in all activities together. Cohorts offer the camaraderie of shared experiences and a lasting network of friends and contacts.
