Chicago Business Fellows

If you are a young professional with zero to three years of job experience and are interested in earning an MBA while you continue to work, you may wish to consider the Chicago Business Fellows Program, a subset of the Evening MBA Program.

The CBF Advantage

As a Chicago Business Fellow, your MBA experience will be enhanced through several support methods. You will receive peer mentoring, a required Professional Development Seminar and unique cohort programming.

The Process

Candidates for the Chicago Business Fellows should complete the Evening MBA application for the fall of the desired year of matriculation. As part of the application requirements, candidates are strongly encouraged to attend a Chicago Business Fellows Day at the Gleacher Center, our downtown campus, which includes a brief information session and the required admissions interview.  See Application Requirements below for a list of dates (under interviews). 

Profile of Candidate

Fellows are required to remain employed throughout the duration of the GSB program. Candidates for the Chicago Business Fellows should have:

  • undergraduate degree prior to entering the GSB
  • excellent scholarship, leadership potential and maturity
  • zero to three years of full-time work experience in a business career
  • employment or a contract for employment with a Chicago-based company by the start of enrollment in the GSB
  • Chicago Business Fellows must remain employed while attending Chicago GSB

Application Requirements

Applicant should fill out the online application for the Evening MBA Program for the fall of the desired year of matriculation. Please indicate you are a CBF applicant. Note: The fee is waived for CBF applicants.

  • Nomination (Nominations should be submitted by the day of the interview)
  • Two letters of recommendation (The nominator can also be one of the recommenders)
  • Transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions from which you have earned a degree, either official documents or a self-reported transcript
  • GMAT scores
  • Resume
  • Essays
  • Interview (For applicants applying to the Autumn 2008 Quarter it is preferred that you interview on a CBF Day: June 21, 2008)
