Warren Batts, adjunct professor of Strategic Management, has been named to Directorship magazine’s inaugural list of individuals influencing corporate governance in America’s boardrooms. The list covers directors, professors, regulators, politicians, attorneys, journalists and others whose actions have pushed corporate reform to the forefront of business.
Batts was included as one of the leading professors who are experts in this area. As the former chairman of the National Association of Manufacturers, one of the largest business lobbying groups, Directorship noted Batts has the “ear of CEOs and directors at the largest companies.”
The top-100 list is the cover story of the September issue of the magazine. The list reflects the growing importance of corporate governance as “the primary duty of boards of directors.”
A shortlist of 300 names was created by a panel of experts and magazine readers. A finalist committee narrowed the names to the 100 winners. Batts and the other honorees will be celebrated at a dinner in December in New York.
In 2006, Batts was honored by the National Association of Corporate Directors as Director of the Year. Read story>
