Graduate School of Business Receives Naming Gift for
its Hyde Park Center

At a May 4 ceremony in the Rothman Wintergarden, Dean Snyder introduced Charles M. Harper, ’50 retired chairman and chief executive of ConAgra Foods who made a large cash gift to the GSB. Addressing the audience in the atrium of what Snyder said many acknowledge to be the best business school facility in the world, he announced the naming of the building in Harper’s honor. Now to be known as the Charles M. Harper Center, the Dean pointed out that the naming of the building “gives us a chance to tell the wonderful story of his career in building a company into a powerhouse, using his Chicago MBA and his relationships with other University of Chicago alumni to full advantage along the way.”
