Professorship Awarded to Stole
Professor of Economics Lars Stole
was named to the inaugural David W. Johnson Professorship, a rotating
chair held by a faculty member teaching at the GSB's overseas
campuses.

Awarded $8.2 Million Grant for Research on Aging
In September, the National Institute
on Aging awarded a team of researchers led by Robert W. Fogel a
five-year, $8.2 million grant for a project titled "Early Indicators
of Later Work Levels, Disease, and Death." |

Erickson
Honored for Tax Research
Associate Professor of Accounting Merle Erickson
received the 2001 American Taxation Manuscript Award last August
for research published in the National Tax Journal. This
annual award is given for a study that makes a significant contribution
to tax literature. |

Statistical Association Recognizes Tiao with Wilks Medal
George C. Tiao received the Samuel
S. Wilks Memorial Medal from the American Statistical Association
in August 2001. According to the ASA, the award is one of the organization's
most prestigious honors. |
