The Journal of Accounting Research publishes original research using analytical, empirical, experimental, and field study methods in accounting research. Since 1963, the journal has been published by the Institute of Professional Accounting (IPA) at the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago. Beginning In June 2001, JAR has been published by the IPA in partnership with Blackwell Publishers .
JAR publishes five issues per year (March, May, June, September, and December). The May issue was formerly called the Supplement, and publishes papers presented at the previous year's annual research conference. To submit or review a paper, visit The JAR Electronic Office .
