Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth, and Happiness
Speaker: Richard H. Thaler, Ralph and Dorothy Keller Distinguished Service Professor of Behavioral Science and Economics, Chicago GSB
Professor Richard Thaler will discuss his book, Nudge, co-authored with Cass Sunstein. Professor Thaler will share their cutting-edge research about human fallibility, and outline a new world that recognizes human nature for what it is, while also making wise choices easier and more likely.
Reviews:
"Nudge...is the title of an absorbing forthcoming book by the legal scholar Cass Sunstein and Richard Thaler, an economist. It's about how we influence the decisions people make by the way we design the context in they make them." - Oliver Burkeman, The Guardian, 3 May 2008.
"In this utterly brilliant book, Thaler and Sunstein teach us how to steer people toward better health, sounder investments, and cleaner environments without depriving them of their inalienable right to make a mess of the things if they want to. Nudge won't nudge you. It will knock you off your feet." - Daniel Gilbert, Professor of Psychology, Harvard University and author of Stumbling on Happiness.
