Events & Activities - London
Building a community for students and their families is an important part of the Executive MBA program. That's why we offer numerous events and activities to have fun, add an extra dimension to your studies or help prepare you for your career. Here's just a sample.
- University of Chicago International Forum - More than 450 alumni, parents, and guests from 20 countries meet for Chicago-style inquiry into business, economic, social, and scientific topics.
- Welcome Cocktails - We hold welcome cocktails on the first class week (July/August) as well as after the summer weeks (October). Students, staff and guests get together on campus for a drink and canapes.
- Cocktail Mixer - A few times per year, first and second year students have the opportunity to get together when the session weeks are back-to-back. The Program office organizes a friendly get together on campus on the bridging Saturday night.
- Lunches with Managing Director of the London campus - Every class week, the Managing Director invites a small group of students for lunch. This lunch is an opportunity for all to get to know each other and get to know the GSB better. The open discussion topics range from the relationship between the University and the GSB, the organizational structure of the school, and new initiatives.
- Family Day and Dinner - Held in the third class week (usually October), Family Day welcomes the supporters of our students so they can get a feel for what the GSB program is like. Spouses, children, family members and friends are invited. Kids are entertained with games and activities (movies, crafts), while the adults are briefed on the program logistics and structure. There is also an open discussion between participants about their side of the “GSB experience” so far. The day closes with a group dinner in a nearby restaurant.
- Global Leadership Series - Students, alumni and members of the local business community attend the Global Leadership Series to hear GSB faculty experts and business leaders from around the world discuss ideas to help you and your business.
- Business Forecast - GSB professors and prominent alumni take a look at what they see as the trends shaping the coming year. The event which started over 45 years ago and is held in over 18 cities around the world attracts a large audience. Read coverage of one of last year's events.
- Worldwide GSB Night - New admits, current students and alumni gather together in cities around the world. View photos and events from last year.
- Holiday Toast - On the last class day of the year, students, staff and guests get together on campus for one last drink.
- Corporate Day - You'll have the chance to hear how companies have integrated business schools in their talent management programs, learn more about the value executive MBA students bring back to their companies, and learn how one company has systematically measured ROI of their training investments.
- Certificate Ceremony - A closing dinner in the last session week of the program.
