Events & Activities - Chicago
Building a community for students and their families is an important part of the Executive MBA program. That's why we offer numerous events and activities to have fun, add an extra dimension to your studies or help prepare you for your career. Here's just a sample.
- Executive MBA Kick-off - In June when the program starts, all three campuses gather in Chicago for a week of special events and activities in addition to the first classes. Among the highlights are lectures from professors such as Steven Levitt, author of Freakonomics, and Kevin Murphy, recipient of a MacArthur "genius" Fellowship.
- XPerience - This event, hosted twice a year, brings together alumni and current students of the program in a social setting to network, mingle, and catch up with friends both old and new.
- Spouse/Partner Weekend - We invite the spouses and partners of current students to learn more about the program and socialize with other students and partners along with alumni.
- Global Leadership Series - Students, alumni and members of the local business community attend the Global Leadership Series to hear GSB faculty experts and business leaders from around the world discuss ideas to help you and your business.
- Business Forecast - GSB professors and prominent alumni take a look at what they see as the trends shaping the coming year. The event which started over 45 years ago and is held in over 18 cities around the world attracts a large audience.
- Management Conference - For 55 years, this event has featured faculty, business leaders and alumni who examine issues faced everyday in the workplace and apply the very best in conceptual knowledge, academic theory and practical solutions. Last year over 1000 people attended. Read about the 2007 conference.
- Speed Networking - You'll get the chance to practice your "elevator speech" and make contacts.
- Send Off Party - Our veteran students pass on their learnings to the rookie class about the integrity, values, and unique tradition of the Executive MBA Program.
- Family Picnic - Every year at the Crystal Garden at Navy Pier, we welcome our student families to enjoy time with each other.
