Interview on CampusRecruiting on campus is an efficient and effective way to hire for both full-time positions and internships. In one convenient location, you'll talk with highly-qualified candidates eager to interview with your company. For full-time positions, you'll choose from more than 500 students in our Full-Time MBA Program, plus eligible students in our Evening and Weekend Programs. Our first-year, full-time MBA students recruit for summer internships. Career Services' expert Relationship Managers will facilitate all aspects of your on-campus interviewing: posting your job descriptions, advertising your visit to students, notifying the students you select for interviews, and scheduling student interview times. Your Relationship Manager will also guide you through the process of selecting interview candidates and make sure your interview schedules run smoothly. Here's how it works: Book recruiting dates: We are currently accepting requests for ad hoc interviews. Ad hoc interviews take place outside of the traditional timeframe for on-campus interviews. Although formal on-campus interviewing takes place in October and November for full-time opportunities, and in January and February for internship positions, there continue to be strong candidates whose job search is focused on those industries or functions that hire just-in-time. For these opportunities, we offer interviews later in the recruiting season from March through June. In addition, we can also assist in setting up telephone and video conference interviews. For assistance setting up on-campus, phone or video conference interviews, please contact your Relationship Manager for more information. For the 2008-2009 academic year, Chicago GSB begins accepting requests for on-campus recruiting dates on May 12, 2008. If you plan to recruit on campus during the peak recruiting season, we suggest that you request your dates during this time. Requests are accepted online May 12 - 14, 2008. If you are unable to book online, or if you would like to reserve dates after May 14, 2008 please contact your Relationship Manager or call 773.702.7405 to reserve a date for your corporate networking event and interview schedules. Submit job postings: Complete a Job Information Form for each position for which you're interviewing. These will be entered in our online job database, where students find all recruiting information. At this stage you'll select the length of your interview slots and the number of schedules you need to interview sufficient candidates. Schedules have both invitational and bid components. The invitational portion of your schedule may be filled with students you select through our online resume database, meet at campus events, or hear from directly. For an exact proportion of invitational and bid slots, please contact your relationship manager. Hold on-campus corporate networking events: Educate students about your organization and career opportunities with a networking event such as a Single Firm Corporate Conversation, Multi-Firm Corporate Conversation or a Corporate Networking Night. We will schedule your visit, promote your event, assign a student ambassador, and provide a list of approved caterers. Events should be held at least four weeks before your interview dates. Submit invitation lists: Select the students you wish to interview and include a few additional candidates as alternates. Submit the list to us online or via email to your Relationship Manager. Selected students will be notified electronically. You may also send invitation letters directly to students. Conduct interviews: You'll meet with students for 30-, 45-, 60- or 90-minute sessions in private interview rooms in the Charles M. Harper Center. You may also request back-to-back interviews, allowing you to host two consecutive interviews with each student. You may contact students to arrange second round interviews as needed. For the 2008-2009 season, second-year interviews will begin on October 20, 2008, and first-year interviews will start on January 20, 2009. If your visit to Chicago GSB includes an overnight stay, we've compiled a list of suggested Chicago hotels (PDF). |
