Frequently Asked Questions - Corporate Conversations

How do I order catering for my Corporate Conversation?

For Multi-Firm Corporate Conversations and Corporate Networking Nights, Career Services will provide refreshments free of charge.  For Single Firm Corporate Conversations, we ask that you make your own catering arrangements. To assist you in making your decision, we have assembled a list of recommended caterers (PDF) who are familiar with our venues. Please note that certain sites restrict the caterers you may hire.

Once you've made your decision, please follow the catering request steps (PDF) for your chosen venue.

How do I order Audio/Visual equipment needed for my event?

There is no charge for most audio/visual equipment at the Charles M. Harper Center or The Quadrangle Club . At Ida Noyes and International House, audio/visual equipment availability and pricing varies. Please click on the respective facility's name for more information.

Are alcoholic beverages allowed at campus events? If so, is a bartender needed?

Alcoholic beverages are allowed at corporate networking events. The caterer that you select will provide both the beverages and the bartender.

When can I schedule an event? How long do these events last?

On September 22, 2008, we kick off the fall recruiting season with Single Firm Corporate Conversations targeting second-year students. These events will continue throughout the year.  On October 20, 2008, companies may begin hosting Single or Multi-Firm Corporate Conversations targeting first-year students.  For first-year students, Single Firm events are best for companies that attract over 100 students and Multi-Firm events are appropriate for companies that attract a smaller audience.

Single Firm Corporate Conversations held on September 22 will begin at 5:30 p.m. or 7:15 p.m., while events held on September 23 and 24, will begin at 10:00 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 4:45 p.m., or 6:30 p.m. Single Firm Corporate Conversations scheduled on or after September 25, will start at 11:45 a.m., 4:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Multi-Firm Corporate Conversations scheduled on or after October 20 will begin at 4:45 p.m. and wrap up at 8:00 p.m.

All Single Firm Corporate Conversations are 90 minutes in length. Because many students have classes and other commitments, we ask that you conclude Single Firm 11:45 a.m. or 4:45 p.m. events within the allotted time. Companies hosting events at 6:30 p.m. have more flexibility with the end time.
