Post-Graduate GSB Courses

As a Chicago GSB alumnus, you can sharpen and hone your skills in the classroom by taking a class. Alumni may take up to three non-cohorted GSB courses in any quarter after graduation.

Policy

  • Chicago GSB alumni may take up to three non-cohorted GSB courses through this offer after graduation.
  • Five-week summer quarter courses are not available for alumni registration.
  • The GSB reserves the right to withdraw a graduate from a class at any time and, upon review, to adjust or cancel this program.
  • Alumni registering for two or more courses in a given quarter must show proof of immunization compliance.

Registration

  • Course registration requests must be made through the Alumni Office no later than the first day of the quarter in which the class meets.
  • Alumni course registration requests will be processed after current students are registered; processing will occur on Monday of Week 3 of the quarter.
  • Course registration requests will be processed in the order in which they are received by the Alumni Office and based on seat availability.
  • The Alumni Office will email an enrollment confirmation once registration has been finalized, or notify a student if enrollment was not possible.
  • If the alumnus/a drops a course, the dropped course will count toward the three-course maximum.

Tuition and Grading

  • Alumni will not be charged tuition for these three classes, but are responsible for the costs of all course materials.
  • Courses must be taken for a grade or on a pass/fail basis. Certain courses may not be taken pass/fail per the course instructor. Alumni should refer to the course descriptions found on the Courses tab under the Alumni portal view.
  • Grades for these classes will appear on the alumni's official University of Chicago transcript.
  • The University of Chicago does not change concentrations on transcripts once a student graduates; thus, these courses will not apply to any concentrations.
  • Beyond the first three courses taken post-graduation, alumni can register for classes at current tuition rates through the Graham School of General Studies.
