Alias Request—Email4Life

What is an alias email account?

An alias email is an alternate name for your Email4Life account. It’s similar to a nickname for your account.

For example, if your user account is jsmith on the GSB server, your email address is jsmith@chicagogsb.edu. You can request an email alias as john.smith@chicagogsb.edu and e-mail will be directed to jsmith@chicagogsb.edu. That is email sent to john.smith@chicagogsb.edu will show up in your jsmith@chicagogsb.edu account. Your log-in account doesn’t change. An email alias will only forward your Email4Life email to a Chicago GSB account.

Your alias must include your last name and can be a combination of your first, middle, and/or last names.

When I send an email, will my alias appear in the "From" field?

No. An alias simply provides another name for others to send you email. Your email account does not change.

How do I request an alias?

Complete the online Alias Request Form .

Note: an email alias isn’t enabled automatically. They must be approved by Computing Services.
