The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business
CWIBAN members serve and benefit from the Booth community. Each year, we work with the Office of Admissions to boost women applicants to business school through our Women’s Recruitment Campaign, which includes Booth Women’s Week, a series of local events hosted by alumnae to meet prospective students, among other projects.
To promote professional development, we host alumnae panel discussions on career and life strategies, share interviews with alumnae who relate their paths to success, and feature recommendations from female faculty on books and further study. CWIBAN has successfully facilitated job referrals, inroads for alumnae moving to a new city, and introductions with other professional women’s organizations.
Living and working across the globe, alumnae connect with each other via the CWIBAN monthly e-newsletters and web site. We provide a forum to exchange news and professional information, and we help friends keep in touch via our Alumnae News announcements.
Regional events are driven by local alumnae volunteers and center on career development, admissions support, community service projects, and social networking. Popular events have included an annual golf outing in Minneapolis, women’s MBA dinners in Los Angeles, wine tasting in New York, a kayaking day-trip in San Francisco, and a volunteer home-building project in Chicago, among others. For upcoming events, please visit our Calendar of Events .
Since the organization was founded 2002, the CWIBAN board of directors leads worldwide initiatives, maintains our close connection with Chicago Booth, and support local efforts. Regional directors drive local events; the scope of the projects depends on individual volunteers, who are encouraged to participate according to their own levels of time and interest. For a roster of our leadership team, please visit our Contact Us Page .
CWIBAN boasts a very active membership, which demonstrates the group’s success in engaging its members and the confidence alumnae have in the power of the network.
As a grassroots organization, the group depends on alumnae volunteers to shape its direction and lead local events. To volunteer, please visit our Volunteer Page which details current CWIBAN projects.
All women graduates of the University of Chicago are eligible for membership, which is free. CWIBAN members total over 3,250 worldwide.
